Farewell, Old Friend…

Very sad to learn that the 104 year old Weston-super-Mare pier burned down yesterday. It’s a very small town, Weston - not much to it except the pier, the promenade, and the beach.

What Do I Think About Your Question?

I get interviewed a fair bit, and sometimes it’s genuinely interesting - normally when the interviewers are interesting people themselves. But of course, most of the time, it’s interviews of a pretty predictable kind. Professional writers often attempt the kind of provocative, illuminating, searching questions they could ask if they were really good at their [...]

London Life, Californian Weather

“When a man is tired of London, he goes and lives in California,” quoth the grand old mephitic philsopher Sir Jack “Boswell” Jimbobberty of Hull, quite wrongly in my opinion. No, it’s not tiredness which drives anyone from London, or boredom, dullness, doldrums, weariness, apathy, or any lacking of interest. There’s usually just the one [...]

Firemen and Arsonists

Firemen quite understandably get a lot of good press, what with saving lives by rescuing people from burning buildings, their great capacity to remain taciturn in the face of adversity and bad pay, pumping gallons of water whilst man-handling all kinds of modern technical equipment, and the admirable practice of retrieving the cat/dog/horse from [...]

Euro 2008

It’s not widely known that the producers of Celebrity Big Brother have attempted to recruit yours truly for every UK series so far. In fact, they have frequently resorted to quite ludicrous levels of [...]

Will the next Mrs. John Cleese please stand up….

Dear All,
We thought you might like to see his Holiness wheelchair bound. Not due to the domestic stuff, but to an operation he had done last week. He’s healing well, but still in some pain.
There’s a nice photo of him in the said wheelchair at this link…
Watch this space…

Friends and Family….

Dearest Cheese Bloggers!
Garry Scott-Irvine here with another little update for you… I’m going to try and come here most days, to let you know just how wonderful the world of Cleese is (well, as long as he’s still paying me that is).

A bit of exciting news to share with you. As know John’s other [...]

Go Obama…

Dear Friends of the great Cheese… Just blogging in, to see how you’re all doing. Hope you’re enjoying the new site!
Re: Obama, you’ll probably pick up from the press, that John has said he’d love to help with speech writing for Obama…. This quote was taken from an interview that JC did with the [...]
