Friends and Family….

Dearest Cheese Bloggers!

Garry Scott-Irvine here with another little update for you… I’m going to try and come here most days, to let you know just how wonderful the world of Cleese is (well, as long as he’s still paying me that is).

Amanda

A bit of exciting news to share with you. As know John’s other lovely assistant, Amanda, moved to Atlanta last year to be a part of Turner Broadcasting.

Amanda had previously worked for John’s agent at Creative Artists Agency in LA for two years. As a major star at CAA, John was able to flex is muscles, and stole her away from them, and brought her to Santa Barbara.

Amanda was with us for a couple years and although she left this sinking ship, we still consider her family.
Today we are happy to report that Amanda is representing us well in her new role, by winning a large marketing competition amongst Turner employees called March Madness Marketing.

For this exercise, she was asked to create a new photo marketing campaign for one of TNT’s new original dramas called “Raising the Bar”, from Executive Producer Steven Bachco. Like John, Turner seems to be a believer in creating opportunities for their employees to share new and innovative ideas with their colleagues (this is a lovely plug for Turner, and should mean that we get a nice t’shirt, or cap).

Although we are really pleased for Amanda, I need to point out that John and I played a major part in her success - one could almost say we taught her everything she knows, and in fact, one has said that on many occasions, but no one has was listening…

We’re hoping to show you a clip of her work on our next podcast.

It looks like a great show, and I think it premieres on TNT in America in late August.

Anyway, enough about her. We’re off to Vegas tomorrow for the opening of Jersey Boys. I’m taking my Kodak with me, and will take lots of photos to prove we were there.

Blog away!

Oh, goody. I’m first to leave a comment. Let’s see…how about…”what happens in Vegas stays inveigled”? No? Well, that’s why my moniker isn’t sharpnfunny…

Thanks for the welcome smartnsweet 1! I have a feeling this is going to be a lot of fun! What the hell does “inveigled” mean? Lynnie

Ooops. I thought you were welcoming me to the site. I just realized that I was a bit presumptuous. Oh well, I’ll get the hang of this at some point!!

in·vei·gle Audio Help /ɪnˈveɪgəl, -ˈvi-/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[in-vey-guhl, -vee-] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–verb (used with object), -gled, -gling.
    1. to entice, lure, or ensnare by flattery or artful talk or inducements (usually fol. by into): to inveigle a person into playing bridge.
    2. to acquire, win, or obtain by beguiling talk or methods (usually fol. by from or away): to inveigle a theater pass from a person.

I just thought it was funnier than, “What happens in Vegas is you stay up all night, drink too much, and lose your shirt.”

p.s. I’ll be presumptuous and welcome you, Lynnie.
